Pulleys

The molded crown helps to center the belt and prevent rubbing against the outside flanges. This arrangement provides maximum support where it is needed--under the highly stressed center of the belt! A wide range of widths and diameters is available to suit virtually any flat belt idler requirement and several types of factory-mounted bore adapters are offered.

Our pulleys use a Taperlock bush to adapt the bore down to a standard parallel shaft with keyway. The bush is mounted to the pulley using the the Taperlock bush, as you tighten the screws the bush gets compressed into the tapered pulley and clamps the shaft and key

As the bearings in the pulley wear, you may begin to experience a high pitch squeaking or squealing. Over time this may result in complete bearing failure, causing the pulley to lock up and break the belt. Good used OEM idler pulleys are an economical replacement for excessivly worn components.

V Belt Pulleys are suitable for both Wedge Belts and Classical V Belts. They are manufactured from cast iron grade GG25 with a phosphated finish for protection and are supplied ready machined to accept a taper bush

A pulley, also called a sheave, is a mechanism composed of a wheel or shaft that may have a groove between two flanges around its circumference. A belt, or chain usually runs over the wheel and inside the groove, if present. Pulleys are used to change the direction of an applied force, transmit rotational motion, or realize a mechanical advantage in either a linear or rotational system of motion.
