The positive linkage between chain and gear wheel allows for constant speeds even with torque fluctuations and very good reproducibility of speeds. Standard variable gear units force the transmission element by applying excessive force – this is unnecessary and reduces the degree of efficiency.

Variable chain drives apply a lever mechanism, which applies only as much pressure on the slat chain as necessary. This results in low operating temperatures, long life, high power density and an excellent efficiency – even in the partial load range.
